Abstract

The early soybean variety Lyubava was obtained as a result of individual selection in F4 from the hybrid combination Vilana × D-7/10 on a differentiating background on the basis of increased drought resistance. According to the results of variety trial in 2018–2021, the variety Lyubava with an average yield of 2.39 t/ha exceeded the standard variety Slavia by 0.33 t/ha. Plant height at the latitude of Krasnodar (45°) is 90–115 cm. The new soybean variety Lyubava is tall and has a deep root system, which provides it with increased drought resistance. Due to the reduced photoperiod sensitivity, the Lyubava variety is suitable as a second summer crop at latitudes of 45 ± 2° without a significant decrease in plant height and yield. Such physiological and genetic features determine its potential attractiveness for cultivation in soybean-producing farms of the North Caucasus, Central Chernozem and Lower Vol-ga regions of the Russian Federation
