Abstract

The practical aspects of serological diagnosis, therapy and specific prophylaxis of Ixodid Tick-borne borrelioses are associated with the complex problem of their etiology. To study the microorganisms of the genus Borrelia with constantly improving modern molecular-biological methods the Museum of Borrelia, comprising storage and an electronic database with the computer algorithm of its formation and replenishment in MySQL for use in the Internet environment. It enables more details to use of a culture isolated at different times from different reservoir hosts, vectors and patients from different regions, for in-depth study of the taxonomy and intraspecific heterogeneity of Borrelia. Currently the museum contains about 1 250 isolates and approximately 7 430 storage units (aliquots).
