Abstract

It is necessary to escape from "path dependence" on white of school facilities and to make an effort to positively affect changes in teaching-learning environment by applying various colors to school facilities. According to the research on the color effect of Waldorf School, the characteristics of transmitting images by organically connecting the overall color have a positive effect on cognitive development. In addition, the color of the classroom of Waldorf School showed a lot of colors that showed overall relaxation, and the brain activation of the students was active. In terms of education, classroom colors showed relaxation characteristics with a high stable alpha wave ratio in general, and were linked to active learning activities in the brain. And according to the research on the color effect of domestic school facilities, students and teachers were very satisfied when bright and diverse colors were applied harmoniously to corridors and toilets. Therefore, the school facilities should take an approach to improve the teaching-learning environment by actively utilizing the effect of colors. In order to lay the foundation for this approach, it is necessary to conduct follow-up studies to identify the colors suitable for each space of classroom, corridor, multipurpose room, restroom, gymnasium which are various spaces of school facilities. Based on the results of the study, it is necessary to raise awareness of the color effect of school facilities by conducting training for education bureaucrats and teachers.
