Abstract

The relevance of the problem of adaptation and translation of spiritual and practical experience between gen-erations has increased in modern Russia due to the changed socio-economic and political situation in the world arena and the need to emphasize to the younger generation the importance of preserving the unique identity of Russia, which lies in traditional socio-cultural and value formulas. The system-structural approach to the study of culture and traditions, as well as dialectical and hermeneutic methods became the methodological basis of the research. The aim of the study is to analyze the spiritual component of modern society through the prism of intergenerational discourse related to the transmission of generations’ spiritual experience. Achieving it in-volves solving the following tasks: to show the peculiarities of relations of representatives of different genera-tions of modern society, associated with the changed dynamics of historical time; to consider the features of intergenerational communication in different types of cultures; to show the fundamental importance of the fam-ily in the process of formation of the “Self” and a healthy axiosphere of society; to identify possible ways to pre-serve fundamental values in the emerging axiological crisis. It is emphasized that the modern world is in a state of “social turbulence”, which is accompanied by changing the velocity of time flow and compression of time-space paradigms. Properly built in these conditions intergenerational relations and emphasis on the continuity of spiritual experience of generations are essential conditions for the preservation of the socio-cultural code of the people and society as a whole.
