Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the Moderating Effect of working environment cluster analysis on the relationship between directors' emotional leadership and job satisfaction of child care teachers. Methods The participants in the study were 462 child care teachers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Daejeon province, cluster analysis using the sub-scales of work environment was conducted. According to the cluster type, the significance was verified using Process macro 3.3 for moderating effect in the relationship between emotional leadership of the director and job satisfaction of child care teachers. Results First, there were 3 clusters according to infant care teacher’s work environment. Cluster 1 was named ‘working environment low-group’, Cluster 2 was named ‘working environment middle group’, and Cluster 3 was named working environment high-group’. Second, ‘working environment low-group’ demonstrated a significant moderating effect between directors' emotional leadership and job satisfaction. The low the level of working environments have become, the bigger conditional effect they have had. Conclusions The results of this study is meaningful in identifying characteristics of the working environment of infant care teachers, and providing information that can suggest ways to actively influence job satisfaction.
