Abstract

The aim of the research is to clarify the concept of readings in terms of: their history, sources, types, imams, benefits, rulings, authors, and the difference between them and frequent readings. Among the most prominent results of the research is the interest of commentators in abnormal readings and their citation of them, and an indication of their impact on the legal sciences. Abnormal readings are a source of interpretation. And the abnormal readings add new meanings that are not in the frequent readings. Abnormal readings are not a Qur'an with the consensus of the majority, but rather individual reports that are conjecture-providing. And the agreement of the four schools of jurisprudence on the sanctity of reading it in prayer and outside it.
