Abstract
Currently, esports has become an integral part of the sports industry. Despite the sometimes ambiguous attitude towards this sports field among researchers, the fact remains undeniable that every year it attracts an increasing number of athletes and spectators. Unfortunately, it can be stated that the legal regulation in this area lags far behind the development of esports, since the current legislation still contains too many "white spots". However, work is underway to improve the regulatory framework, including plans in the near future to outline the boundaries of the area that will be defined as esports. Within the framework of this article, the author presented his own position on this issue, as well as the corresponding argumentation.
