Abstract

This study was conducted in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the publication of the academic journal 『Journal of Art &Design Research』 issued by the Art and Design Research Institute at Kyung Hee University, and in conjunction with its inclusion in recognized journals. The aim was to expand the scholarly and unique domains of art and design pursued by the journal and to provide foundational data to promote interdisciplinary research. To achieve this, an analysis was conducted on 525 papers published in the journal and the 935 researchers who participated from 1998 to 2022.
The analysis results revealed several key insights. In response to the quantitative increase in papers, it was suggested to increase the frequency of journal publications. The expansion of the editorial board's composition, considering diversity in contributors and authors based on region, affiliation, and academic field, was recommended. Additionally, the findings emphasized the need to enhance collaboration and research functions among the nine centers, promoting interdisciplinary research through increased exchanges.
