Abstract
The results of phenological observations of 139 species of perennial plants in the NEFU Botanical Garden are presented. According to the timing of flowering, spring (20% of species), early summer (48%), summer (27%) and late summer (5%) phenological groups of plants were distinguished. The number of flowering species in the collection increases as the daytime temperature rises to +25°C. The greatest shifts in the timing of the onset of flowering are typical for summer and late summer plants. Steppe plants respond well to cultural conditions; 92% of introduced plants go through a full cycle of shoot development, bear fruit annually, and 86% increase the size of their populations through seed or vegetative self-renewal. Late flowering species are less resistant.
