Abstract

Objectives This study was conducted to find out the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Traumatic Grieve Inventory Self-Report (K-TGI-SR+).
Methods An online survey was conducted on 448 people who have lost a loved one and after dividing them into two samples by random sampling, one sample was used for exploratory factor analysis and the other for con-firmatory factor analysis. After that, internal consistency, concurrent validity, and group discrimination validity were confirmed.
Results As a result of exploratory factor analysis, two factors were found to be suitable, and two out of a total of 22 questions were eliminated because they did not meet any factors. In the confirmatory factor analysis con-ducted with 20 questions, two factors were found to be the most appropriate. Accordingly, the first factor was named “separation distress” and the second factor was named “adaptation difficulties”. In addition, high internal consistency was confirmed, and as a result of confirming the concurrent validity and group discrimination validity, it was found to have a high level of external validity.
Conclusions It has been proven that K-TGI-SR+ is a valid and reliable tool. Finally, the significance, limitations, and supplements of this study were discussed.
