Abstract

Jerusalem artichoke is a source of a complex of biologically active compounds, such as inulin, vita- mins B1, B2, B7, PP, C and organic acids. The use in feeding of laying hens of Helianthus tuberosus L. extract at a dose of 1,1 g/t feed contributed to an increase in their egg production by 7.2%, the average egg weight by 4.4%, safety by 4.0%, and a decrease in feed conversion by 10 eggs by 23.5 % and per 1 kg of egg mass by 24.2%. At the same time, the index of efficiency in the production of eggs of laying hens was 12.8% higher compared to the control.
