Abstract

The study aims to make a model of the semantic processes taking place during hermeneutic interpretation of the Russian terminological word-combination “digital economy”. Scientific novelty of the research lies in conducting an analysis of the notion “digital economy” from the standpoint of cognitive linguistics and philological hermeneutics. The attained results have shown that semantics of the word-combination “digital economy” is based on metonymic transformation of the terms “digit” and “digital”. The lexeme “digit” and the word-combination “digital economy” function in the context of “naïve” consciousness as synonyms of the lexeme “computer” and the word-combination “computer economy”, in the modern public discourse they are considered means of verbal manipulation.
