Abstract

The article examines the relationship between the two most important categories of political and legal science — “sovereignty” and “the general will”, whose formation falls mainly at the turn of the Middle Ages and the Modern Times. Subsequently, they, as components of the broader concept “power”, altered the direction of their development over a considerable historical period.
