The current article presents the results of the analysis of theoretical and empirical sociological researches on the problem of sexuality in the context of contemporary popular music
We present the results of the analysis of three music videos contents (Meghan Trainor — “All About That Bass”, PSY —”Gangnam Style” and Leningrad — “Exhibit”), as well as the results of focus group study, mainly aimed at video clips narratives and their interpretation. one considers various ways of including sexuality as a component of commercially successful musical products among various national cultures (USA, South Korea, Russia)

В настоящей статье представлены результаты анализа научных теоретических и эмпирических социологических исследований по проблеме сексуальности в контексте современной популярной музыки. Несмотря на глобальность самого явления популярной музыки, предполагается, что в настоящий момент символический план содержания песен и транслируемые через них образы, все же в значительной мере различаются в зависимости от национальной культуры. Соответственно, при изучении сексуальности в контексте популярной музыки, на наш взгляд, целесообразно рассматривать и музыкальные видео.
