Abstract
The trespasses are one of the most important problems facing Iraqi cities today, which represent a new challenge for urban planners, as the phenomenon has become a threat to the city in its existence and distort its appearance, and the city of Al-Saqlawiya is not isolated from the rest of the Iraqi cities, in which various forms of trespasses appeared in its basic plan, especially after 2003 as a result of the security chaos and the weakness of the supervisory role of the authorities, and the study aims to know the type of those trespasses, their numbers, area and negative effects on the built environment, represented by the encroachment on the various land uses within the country. The basic design of the city, and outside it on the agricultural lands adjacent to it, the study has reached a set of conclusions that the most trespasses inside the city are industrial trespasses, which amounted to an area of (2.97) hectares on the taboos of roads and parks, while outside it is residential with an area of (60) hectares and that most of the land exceeded is agricultural land.
