Abstract
Abstract: This article includes a review of the basic scientific publications of Chaim Perelman and Lucie Olbrechts-Tyteca. Attempts to reconceptualize ancient rhetoric in its part on argumentation are presented. Conclusions are drawn after reviewing the publications of other scholars studying argumentation. It is presented as part of fundamental rhetorical knowledge, together with projections into the legal/legal sphere and into politics. Projections of argumentation in the speaker's behavior and in his goal to achieve persuasion while respecting ethical norms, rules and morality are identified. Intersections between rhetoric, philosophy, and argumentation are presented. The contribution of rhetoric to humanistic knowledge is demonstrated through a critical review of the scholarly publications of Chaim Perelman and Lucie Olbrecht-Tyteca and other scholars publishing in the fields of rhetoric and philosophy in the 20th and 21st centuries.
