Abstract
The article is dedicated to the outstanding researcher and industrial specialist Yuriy Nikolayevich Malyshev. The article describes his work experience in research and educational areas; interaction under his leadership between the Vernadsky State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the educational community; his significant contribution to addressing the scientific and social problems of the mineral and raw materials complex of the country. Yuriy Nikolaevich assigned a significant part to upbringing of the young generation and training of the talent pool for innovative industrial operations. The presented work reveals modern approaches to education in mining and geological sectors with the use of museum practice.
