Abstract
The article highlights some of the theoretical bases of sustainable development of forest industry enterprises. The profiles of activities and products of sub-sectors of the timber industry are highlighted. The advantages and disadvantages of the forest business are shown. Special attention is paid to the innovative component of the development of timber enterprises. The article concludes that there is a need for state participation in stimulating the transition to sustainable development of forest enterprises.
