Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine Home Economics teachers educational needs of using Edutech. A survey was administered to middle school teachers on the importance and performance of using Edutech. A total of 334 complete responses were analyzed using the paired t-test, the Borichs needs assessment model, and the Locus for Focus model. Results are as follows. First, educational needs for online collaboration tools were the highest, followed by educational demand for 3D printers, digital design tools, and online quizzes/survey on Eedutech types. Second, as a result of the analysis of using Edutech by content elements of the curriculum, it was revealed that education requirements were the highest in the prevention of sexual violence and domestic violence, life problems and prevention of adolescence, and sex and friendship of adolescence, followed by meal planning and selection. It was found that education requirements for food selection and safe cooking, consumption life of adolescence, low fertility, an aging society, and work-family compatibility content elements were high. This study suggests that teacher training programs are needed to enhance teachers’ Edutech capabilities.
