Abstract

In the article the essence of the concept “position” in the general sense is considered and the substantive features of understanding of it as a term of a professional sphere in the aspect of sciences, which investigate the processes and results of professional activity and professional interaction: psychology, sociology, philosophy of education are singled out. It was found out that the vocabulary articles focus on the understanding of the main meaningful accents of the notion “position” as giving an idea of the attitude of the individual to life in general and its specific aspects, in particular, the behavior determined by a certain system of values and beliefs, as well as status-role models of behavior.The analysis of domestic and foreign experience of interpretation of the concept “professional position” is carried out. It is theoretically substantiated that this concept is considered as an integrative phenomenon, which is: a personality characteristic as a whole; as a way to realize the basic values of the personality in its interactions with other people; as the central component of personality education; as a result of interpenetration of social, professional and individual typical personality traits; as a system of personal attitudes to the profession.Analyzing the scientific approaches to the study of a professional position, it is noted that this concept is considered by scientists in connection with the study of characteristics of the person and the means of its formation as a professional in a certain type of activity. The formation and development of a professional position is studied in philosophy, pedagogy, sociology, as well as in certain branches of psychology. The personal and professional positions are considered by the researchers in close connection, because it is based on personal values and behavioral models that a professional position is predominantly formed.The absence of a unified understanding of the defined definition and the multidisciplinary approach to its interpretation is determined. On the basis of generalization of scientific approaches, the actual understanding of the concept “professional position” as a value attitude towards professional activity is proposed, based on persistent beliefs regarding the model of its implementation (including forms and means), results, participants, as well as a system of behavior, coordinated with the system of expert beliefs.
