Abstract
The article is dedicated to the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Oleg V. Inshakov, on the 70th anniversary of his birth. Oleg Inshakov is a widely renowned outstanding scientist, a talented organizer in the sphere of science and education, a well-known state official and public figure. The article provides biographical facts of the period of study and work of Oleg Inshakov at Rostov State University, and reveals his role in the development of Volgograd State University as a classical university, a strategic regional center of science, education, culture and advanced technologies. Through the prism of Oleg Inshakov’s scientific achievements, the paper shows the evolution of the scientific school he created and the interdisciplinary projects implemented by its representatives. Learners and colleagues of Oleg Inshakov share their memories of the teacher, supervisor and mentor.
