Abstract

The development of new and increasing the sensitivity of already known techniques of high quality and quantitative definition of medicinal substances is one of pharmaceutical chemistry problems. This
paper presents the results of a study of the interaction of sodium caffeine benzoate with phthalexone SA in the
presence of cobalt ions. It has been shown that the identification of this drug substance, as well as its quanti tative determination by reaction with the Co2 +
 - phthalexone SA system, is possible in highly acidic media.
The use of the Co2 +
 - phthalexone SA complex was confirmed in an experiment using aqueous analytical
 systems.
