Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of art therapy based on cognitive behavioral approach for a child with post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) resulting from the fall accident. For this purpose, a 10-year-old girl in the 3rd grade of elementary school in K district, was selected as a participant. The participant of this study had an accident two years ago in which a peer pushed her on a slide and fell vertically from a height of about 1 meter. From this accident, she suffered a wound on her forehead and arm, and she still has a large scar on her forehead and has undergone surgery twice. As a result of this accident, she was afraid of the place where the accident occurred and had difficulty forming interpersonal relationships. She also had a negative perception of her body. Art therapy based on a cognitive behavioral approach was conducted once a week, 50 minutes per session, for a total of 12 sessions at the social welfare center in K district. As a result of this study, through the art therapy based on cognitive behavioral approach, a study participant had positive experiences in relation to emotional expression and positive social interaction. In addition, she positively recognized herself and expressed emotions based on this, and by expressing various emotions in art, she became emotional stability by purifying and accepting emotions.
