Abstract

This article examines the features of studying the interests of readers in grades 5-7 in a general education school. To solve this problem, special attention is paid to the need for purposeful work to form a harmoniously developed, socially active personality, combining spiritual wealth, moral purity and physical perfection. The main conductor of this responsible task in life is the school, and in its forefront are language teachers. The presence of interest in reading, in literature as an academic subject can also be understood by the nature of the process of students' activity: the student accepts the task readily, independently takes on its implementation, is attentive, passionate about his activities, actively uses the acquired knowledge and skills, shares with others new fresh information taken from various sources outside of communication, which is especially important in literature lessons.
