Abstract

In 2017 and 2019, the archaeological expedition of the National Museum of the Republic of Karelia conducted field surveys in the territory of Russian Lapland on the topics “Monuments of the Late Middle Ages and Modern Times of Karelia and the Kola Peninsula: dynamics of intercultural interaction” and “Ancient sacred objects” of Eastern Fennoscandia. The article presents a general overview of the results of these studies. Three places with cult stones have been recorded –– Mount Lisya, Lake Tashechnoye and the Sredny Peninsula. A complex of boulder pits has been opened on the Khlebnaya River. In the village of Teriberka, searches were conducted for the site of the church of the Georgian Icon of the Mother of God.
