Abstract
The review objective is to summarize the available information on herpes infection in the mother-placenta-fetus and newborn baby system. A great variety of risk factors for the transmission of HPV infection to the fetus, such as: the infection activity in the mother, the immune status of the pregnant woman, viral load during infection, etc. lead to placental and fetal lesions of different types.
