Abstract

Against the background of an acute shortage of educational literature in support of higher education in the 1920s, dozens of famous teachers of Saratov universities acted as authors of textbooks and manuals. The provincial department of the state publishing house was responsible for their publication, and the preparation of the manuscript for publication was carried out by such organizations as: the subdivision of social security for students at Saratov State University, the general student fund for mutual assistance, the provincial departments of health and education, etc. A lot of educational literature for students of humanities were published by V. Z. Yaksanov’s private publishing house. The article examines the dynamics of educational book publishing to meet the needs of higher education in the region, its characteristic features and characteristics.
