Abstract

The article analyzes functional and stylistic differentiation of the Tabasaran colloquial vocabulary. The Tabasaran colloquial and low colloquial vocabulary is considered from the viewpoint of expressivity, frequency of usage. The research material includes lexicographical units of the Tabasaran literary language and author’s field material gathered on the basis of the northern Gukhrag sub-dialect of the Tabasaran language. The research findings lead to the conclusion that classification of the basic lexical classes of colloquial vocabulary is determined by the level and shades of words expressive colour. The paper emphasizes the importance of extra-linguistic and communicative tasks when identifying words evaluative colour.
