Abstract
The article is devoted to the disclosure of the meaning, relevance and regularity of studying the course of computer science in higher education. It provides information about the knowledge, skills that students must master, methods and means of teaching computer science. As a result of studying the computer science course, students have the skills to analyze information obtained from the Internet and other sources, the ability to work with information, analyze and use it. At the same time, they will learn to work with a unit of information to measure them. The article also provides information on the state of teaching computer science, questions about finding ways to ensure their effectiveness.
