Abstract
The article is devoted to the souvenir as a semantic phenomenon, its role in synchronous and diachronic interpersonal and cross-cultural communications. The author focuses on the functions of retransmitting and mobilizing individual memory performed by souvenirs and examines their role in the system of signs and symbols in ethnographic tourism.
