Abstract
Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of novice counselor’s self-reflection on burn-out and the mediating effect of novice counselor’s difficulty on the relationship between self-reflection and burn-out.
 Methods A survey was conducted with novice counselors who had fewer than three years of counseling experience and 225 counselors completed self-report questionnaires. Simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis was conducted to verify research questions using SPSS 26.0 and Process Macro.
 Results The analysis indicated that novice counselor’s self-reflection had a significantly negative effect on burn-out, and novice counselor’s difficulty had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between self-reflection and burn-out.
 Conclusions The findings imply strategies to decrease novice counselor’s difficulty and increase counselor’s self-reflcetion are effective to decrease novice counselor’s burn-out.
