Abstract

Electric railway vehicle is constituted by various components, which have an important role associated with safety. Therefore, for important safety-related electronic components of railway vehicles, timely maintenance is required based on reliability evaluation such as life expectancy calculation. This paper deals with the reliability evaluation of auxiliary power units in railway vehicles, which play an important role in safety and passenger service, but have few reliability demonstration test cases because they are complex and consist of many parts. In particular, it is characterized in that a virtual operation simulator is applied to perform an efficient and stable verification test for complex electronic components of railway vehicles.
