Abstract
The article is intended to raise the issue of the development of civic consciousness among the students of ped-agogical universities. The patterns of civic behavior offered by the Internet contradict the traditional system of values and civic guidelines. The aim of the article is to clarify the concept of pedagogical university student's civic consciousness, its component composition as a quality of personality. The authors ascertain that civic consciousness, as a quality of a future teacher, consists in a respectful attitude to the Fatherland, society and its culture, manifested in pedagogical interaction in the process of pedagogical activity on the basis of reproduc-tion of civic qualities. Therefore, the study allowed to characterize the components of civic consciousness. The results of the study can be used in the process of professional training of future foreign language teachers in higher education.
