Abstract
In conditions of economic instability, the banking system is the most important factor in the development of the country's economy, and commercial banks are the main link of the market economy, significantly affecting the functions of money. The article provides an analysis of the key indicators of the Russian banking sector at the present stage, the trends of its further development are considered.
