Abstract
The article considered an algorithm for carrying out a parametric assessment of the tourist and recreational potential of municipal territories, tested on the example of the Russian Azov region. The presented model of parametric assessment based on classical and modern approaches to the study of tourism and recreation, and here is presented an updated version. There have been proposed, have been calculated and have been substantiated a system of indicators (indicators of natural, historical, cultural potential, tourist infrastructure indicators, socio-economic sphere, integral tourism indicators), reflecting the peculiarities of the development of the recreational sphere in the municipal regions of the Russian Azov region. The article proposed a typology of municipal districts in terms of the level and prospects of tourist and recreational development and recommendations are given on priority measures in each of the selected municipalities.
