Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the artistic and technical applicability of projection mapping in dance creation by examining dance work examples which use this technique. In order to do so, the concept of projection mapping was studied. The author watched and created dance works and analyzed them empirically to discover the effectiveness and necessity of using projection mapping for dance creation, based on the characteristics and effects of each technique. This study’s findings are expected to serve as a guide for improving the overall level of performance and expand the aspects of artistic expression through the appropriate use of projection mapping in dance creation. It is also expected to give vitality to the current stagnant dance performance industry.
