Abstract

The aim of the study is to create a lexicographic portrait of the word дядя (uncle) in secondary naming as a way to describe the lexical unit as fully as possible, taking into account the integral approach, according to which information about three types of properties should be included in the portrait of the word: semantic-pragmatic; communicative-prosodic, collocational, syntactic, morphological and stylistic; infor-mation about semantic connections with other lexemes of the dictionary. The paper analyses the dictionary entries of 11 dictionaries, identifies 4 lexico-semantic variants for the word дядя in secondary naming, describes their properties necessary for a complete lexicographic portraying of the word дядя in secondary naming. The scientific novelty of the work lies in attempting to present the features of the se-mantics of the word дядя in secondary naming based on dictionary entries of definition dictionaries of the Russian language. As a result, it has been found that the word дядя is of Old Russian origin, secondary meanings have been described in dictionaries since 1935, over time the number of derived meanings of the word дядя in dictionaries increases, the features of the semantics are described in more detail, but at the moment they require additional research.
