Abstract
The article discusses the problem of developing creativity in literary reading lessons in elementary school, emphasizing the importance of creative works of various types for better understanding by primary schoolchildren of the idea of a work of art and the development of interest in textual activity. The characteristics of different types of creative work based on works of art are given, and the methodology for their organization at the first stage of school education is outlined.
