In the Xi Jinping era, “the war to Resist America and Aid Korea” was once again called a “great victory” against the US to protect the country. And the spirit of the volunteer army willing to sacrifice for the motherland has risen to the spirit of the times of “patriotism and love for the party”. This article regards the 70th anniversary of “the war to Resist America and Aid Korea” in 2020 as the revival war memory, focusing on the national memorial ceremony and performance, the first official TV series Going Across the Yalu River and the main melody blockbuster The Battle at Lake Changjin, examines the cultural politics of this war memory. From the war period in the 1950s to the present, the collective memory of this war has always been to build and strengthen China's self-identity against the West as an “other.” Therefore, the recent changes can reveal the new demands of China/Chinese’s self-awareness in the Sino-US struggle for hegemony. In addition, the government and the public jointly promote this resistance nationalism. From this point of view, the collective memory of “the War to Resist America and Aid Korea” is expected to spark the craze for Chinese patriotism.
