Abstract

Aim. In cases of acute poisoning, in order to provide emergency medical care to the patient, it is necessaryto correctly determine the cause of the poisoning. When analyzing blood and urine for the identificationof a poisonous substance in a forensic chemical examination, it is important to extract this substance frombiological fluids. The aim of this work was to develop isolation conditions using the extraction of levamisolefrom biological fluids of laboratory animals.Material and methods. To develop optimal conditions for isolating levamisole from biological fluids oflaboratory animals, levamisole was first extracted from an aqueous medium under different conditions. Severalsolvents were used to study the effect of the nature of the organic solvent on the separation process. Theinfluence of the pH of the medium on the extraction of levamisole from the aqueous medium was also studied.Results. According to the results of the analysis, it was found expedient to carry out three-fold extractionof levamisole from the aqueous medium with chloroform at a pH of 3-4. This technique was used to isolatelevamisole from blood and urine of laboratory animals.
