Abstract

Abstract. The study examines the experience of participatory budgeting in Russia. The application of this approach to the distribution of municipal budgetary funds allows us to take into account the needs of the population in the field of improvement of the urban environment. In regional projects of initiative budgeting, various tools are used to involve citizens, which can ensure their maximum participation in the process of allocating budget funds for initiatives. The use of digital technologies makes it possible to organise the process of participatory budgeting more understandable for the population and increase the efficiency of projects.
