Abstract

The analysis of problems in the field of risk management is related to the reasonable choice of methods for identification, analysis and assessment of risks. It is noted that the wrong choice of methods will contribute to the wrong prioritization in the identification and selection of risks that require priority measures to reduce or diversify the risks. The results of systematization of methods of identification, analysis and risk assessment are carried out. It was revealed that these methods can be classified as follows: survey methods and search methods. The analytical and creative methods of searching for information about the causes and sources of risks are highlighted. In order to make a reasonable choice of methods for identifying, analysing and assessing risks, a description of their advantages and disadvantages is carried out. Three survey methods are discussed in detail: drawing up a risk checklist; risk identification matrix; conducting interviews and surveys. The following methods have been proposed and analysed as analytical search methods: analysis of empirical data; analysis of the fault tree; analysis of the event tree; Ishikawa diagram; analysis of Markov chains; root cause analysis; analysis of social networks. It has been established that when choosing methods of identification, analysis and assessment, it is necessary to take into account not only their complexity, the required qualifications of personnel and cost, but also the degree of maturity of risk management in the organization. As a result of the analysis of foreign practice in the field of risk management, it was revealed that in order to increase the efficiency of risk managers' work, it is advisable to introduce a risk controlling subsystem in organizations, which ensures that managers are provided with adequate information about the organization's risks.
