Abstract

This research tackles the issue of student violence in the Sudanese universities in the media discourse; it deals with ways of upgrading their awareness from a journalistic perspective. It also discusses the journalistic coverage of this phenomenon from January 2005 to June 2006 . The importance of this research and reasons behind choosing such a title is that Sudanese journalism constitutes one of the most sources that provide a flow of information and paving the prospects to appropriate dialogue process; that eventually leads to maintaining of communal peace and security among the students in the universities. It contributes to creating leadership in public opinion in domestic and external spheres. The researcher used the descriptive method in the analysis to extract results concerning ways in which the Sudanese journalistic discourse adopts the issue of student violence and the contribution exerted to raise the student's awareness.
