Abstract

This research studies approaches of visual and audio media (radio /television) in the faculties of communication in the Sudanese universities; it assesses its adaptation to the scientific revolution in this field in addition to provide the community with the specialized cadre working in the media discourse. The problems which the research discussed were the disparities and differences between curriculums in the different faculties, and the outdated contents which are not coinciding with the rapid pace developments in this field. The researcher used the descriptive method as it suits the research, the researcher surveyed the available practices, besides observing and checking the concerning data related to the academic classes due to the standard of balance and integration. The most significant finding this research presented is the clear gap between the theoretical studies and the empirical practices; cit envisages a vision that requires the unification of prevalent curriculums in the faculties of communication and updating its contents to coincide with the current developments in the field, besides, providing the necessary training tools to ensure practical training, it is worth focusing that the media studies are applicable and practical knowledge contrary to what is widely thought that it is purely theoretical studies. Hence, this research is presented in three chapters, the first one focuses on training and rehabilitation, the second is the current conditions and the last chapter is reflecting future vision to the curricula of radio and television; then there are some conclusions and recommendations.
