Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of integrated art therapy program on emotional stability and self-expression in adults with developmental disabilities. The subjects of this study were three adults with developmental disabilities who participated in the P University Lifelong Education Center program of Busan city. The research method was a single group pre-post design and an integrated art therapy program consisting of art, music, dance and movement activities was conducted twice a week for 8 weeks. As a pre-post test tool, self-report questionnaires and observation journals were recorded and recorded according to the activities of each session. The self-report questionnaire examined the questionnaire questions according to the pre-post test results and qualitatively analyzed the activities of each session. As a result, the emotional stability and self-expression of the developmentally disabled adults who participated in the integrated art therapy program were stabilized and the self-expression was stable by increasing the low scores of the questionnaire before and after the self-report questionnaire. In addition, as a result of qualitative analysis of the activities of each session, problem behaviors such as aggressive behaviors seen in the basic stages and other people"s notices and poor self-expression began to show positive changes in the development stages and integrated stages was clear that the decrease. Therefore, it was concluded that the integrated art therapy program is useful for adults with developmental disabilities to stabilize their unstable emotions and express their thoughts freely, thereby promoting their emotional stability and self-expression.
