Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between self-compassion, positive psychological capital, and clinical practice stress of nursing students and to identify factors that affect clinical practice stress.
Methods The questionnaire collected data from September 5, 2023, to September 19, 2023, among nursing students in the 3rd and 4th grades with clinical practice experience at 3 universities in the D and K regions, and data analysis was conducted using SPSS 22.0 for difference test, one-way analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and Hierarchical regression analysis.
Results Among the factors affecting clinical practice stress of nursing students, the higher the self-compassion, the lower the clinical practice stress (ß=-.29, p=<.001), and the group with satisfaction with clinical practice satisfaction tended to have lower clinical practice stress than the group with dissatisfaction (ß=-.39, p=.003). The explanatory power of these factors for clinical practice stress was 15%.
Conclusions It is important to find ways to reduce clinical practice stress among nursing students, and educational programs or practical interventions are needed to reduce clinical practice stress.
