Abstract

Objective. To improve diagnostics and treatment of candidiasis in children with rheumatic diseases. Patients and methods. We performed clinical examination of the oral cavity in 316 children with rheumatic diseases and assessed the frequency and clinical manifestations of oral candidiasis in them. Oral swabs were taken from patients with any complaints or clinical symptoms of candidiasis. Conclusion. We have developed and implemented an algorithm of treatment of oral candidiasis in children with rheumatic diseases, depending on the form of candidiasis, course of the main disease, and basic therapy used.
