Abstract
This study examines the main issues of the features of the global experience of state regulation of the agricultural sector and their effectiveness. The research is based on the fundamental work of foreign scientists and determines the mechanisms of regulation of the agricultural sector with the direct participation of the state. The experience of developed countries shows the need to regulate agricultural production. The “invisible hand” of the market does not create the necessary conditions for the full-fledged operation of enterprises in the agricultural sector, therefore, a purposeful state policy is needed to distribute a significant part of the national income to support agriculture and its further development. Studies show that neither in economically developed countries with a high level of development of the agricultural sector nor in the implementation of agricultural policy, there are no countries where the development of the agricultural sector is ensured without the participation of the state. In developed countries, the agricultural sector is given special attention, despite the fact that it does not play a significant role in the structure of the economy. The entire sphere of agricultural policy (economic, technical, investment) is aimed at ensuring the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, for such a level can be achieved only through the balanced development of all sectors of the agricultural sector.
