Abstract
The object of the research is the migration terminology issues of the basic concepts used by international organizations. The aim of the work is to substantiate the need for the adequate translation of terms according to the methods of leading information centers that deal with international migration. The work employs the methods of logical and theoretical analysis. The main result of the study is the clear distinction between incorrectly used terms and the corresponding indicators presented by the author, as well as the need for changes in migration terminology. In the author's opinion, this will help bringing together the conceptual apparatus of domestic and foreign works, more accurately applying English-language terms in migration practice. The term “free movements” requires special attention. It cannot be fully applied to migration from the countries with agreements on visa-free entry, for example, the CIS countries. The work shows the place of each of the six main types of migration in the world economy by the case of OECD countries. The general trend of immigration to these countries in the 2010s indicates an increase in the share of non-humanitarian types of migration where labour migration is of increasing importance. The analysis of the position occupies a significant place in the work. According to the analysis, it is incorrect to equate the terms "migrant remittances" and "remittances". The work thoroughly describes the differences and the role of a broad interpretation of remittances in accordance with the IMF methodology. The conclusions of the study, including the description of defining the concept of "profession", important in the design of the legal framework for labour migrants employed in the Russian economy, as well as the measures proposed by the author to improve professional training of migrants attracted by the Russian economy from Central Asian countries, may be of interest for Russian authorities when implementing state migration policy and developing modern economic measures to regulate migration. According to the author, the solution of the three groups of problems depends not only on the legislative and executive authorities, but also on the scientific community.
