Abstract

Personality education is to develop the thought, emotion, and behavior of a person to be based on better value, and it is more effective among adolescents than adults, who already have deeply rooted value system.
 At a time when the necessity of personality education has grown, this study started with the belief that if students can get personality education through school education during the period of free-semester system when they can be stressed by evaluation and explore themselves freely, the effect of personality education will be bigger. Based on the experience until now, contents that are enjoyable and can raise students interest through tea culture were developed, and a program of 11 sessions focused more on practice than theory was devised.
 The main contents were composed of manners education, how to brew tea, 6 major types of tea, blended tea, tea therapy, coffee, making chocolate, making tea confectionary, experiencing Japanese tea culture, and afternoon tea party.
 When verified through a survey the effectiveness of the program that was conducted, it was found to be statistically significant. The goal of educating tea culture is to raise pride about our traditional culture, to learn and get accustomed to it, understand adolescents and change their behavior in a desirable way.
 So it is believe to be a valuable process of personality education that can have a positive influence on adolescents development of personality.
